FAQ Francesco - Emigration Quebec in an episode

Abstract: in the following lines I shall refer only my personal experience, that at the attainment of a permanent resident visa in Quebec as a Skilled worker with accompanying family (wife and two children under the age 6 to years).
In the two years (from February 2008 in July 2010 ) preparation of the dossier, sending documents, site visits and obtaining a visa, we crossed a desert of doubts, fears, concerns and uncertainties often related to the absolute lack of feed-back.
Simon's blog ("To emigrate to Canada") and exchanged words with Simon, Alexander, Brown, Claudia and various Anonymous, have helped to curb the bewilderment and anger for the waiting seemed endless and she has, in part, off the 'enthusiasm and led to one thousand thoughts.

Now, after 3 months of life in Montreal, I thought I'd prepare a post with some questions I asked myself and I tried to bear with patience. Maybe they will not serve anyone, but in doing so, spend an evening of reflection, letting go of the memories. If this post should have a good rating could make the second bet or collect applications received and write a collective post. Help me understand if the post is useful to you, please click one of the boxes "Feedback" at the end of the post. Hello

D. to go in Quebec must apply to Quebec?
R. to be a permanent resident in Quebec you must first obtain a certificate of selection (CSQ, see the post-specific) of Quebec, and then apply for permanent visa to the Federal Government. I know people who have applied for Federal and Quebec come in, but do not know the procedure, nor that it was seen, neither of which practices were followed.

D. How long does it take to get a visa?
R. not less than a year and a half after the sending of documents to BIQ `Paris.

D. I have to go to a consultant / adviser or I can do it all alone?
R. You can do it all alone. The sites of the Quebec Ministry of Immigration and the Embassy are well organized and complete. They are only in French and English (except that of 'Embassy in Italy that still refers to documents in different languages). You can go to a counselor / advocate, but beware of `reliability, experience and cost.

D. What are referring sites?
R. sites and three officers are in order of the consultation are: CIC (citizenship and Immigration), Federal Ministry of Immigration http://www.cic.gc.ca/francais/index.asp, MICC (Immigration et Communautés Culturelles Quebec) Ministry of Provincial Immigration Quebec www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/fr/index.html; Italy Embassy in Canada www.canadainternational.gc.ca/italy-italie/index.aspx?lang=ita ..
A blog is very useful to emigrate to Canada: http://canadablog-simona.blogspot.com/.

D. It is useful to contact staff within the Canadian Embassy in Italy for clarifications, explanations, updates?
R. No. If you are in Rome or the surrounding area and want to ride all `visa office in Via Zara, without great expectations or hopes of direct information, preference or novelty, the expense is minimal and the lack of response may be just annoying. From a distant city, take a trip, an overnight stay, meals, etc. is likely to be a sacrifice-free results. The hours of the Office for visas are not comfortable. Sometimes it `s Embassy organizes information sessions, to participate may be useful, but only to kill time. Do not throw away money on a trip to Rome hoping to get answers or information or aggiornamenti.particolari. Go to Rome if you are desperate or if you feel a physical need to see the Office for visas. Do not think you can talk to someone on the phone. It is impossible. Do not think you get information via email or comfort. It is impossible. `The only answer I can get is " Monsieur, Votre dossier est à l'étude, nous vous prions d'être patient. Nous vous contacterons en temps et lieu. Goods ". Going to Rome is always a pleasure even for tourism. It was my last vacation.

D. C `and` a `way of checking the progress of your file?
R. It ` , but only from taking charge of circulation by the Federal Office for visa` s Embassy in Rome. The update is not exactly clear ... We were already in Canada in our box when it appeared the bullet markers of the medical examination (carried out 3 months). L `archive of questions can be reached through the website of CIC and is available only when it is in possession of a number of federal dossier is sent to you some weeks after the `dispatch of documents to the Federal seen.

D. What does it cost to emigrate to Quebec?
R. Tanto. Put together secretarial expenses and demand for the CSQ, and secretarial expenses for federal visa application, medical examination, expenses for stamps, certificates, translations, annotations, authentic, shipping documents, trip to Paris for the interview with the ` BIQ, travel to Milan or Rome for the medical examination, travel to Rome to withdraw the visa, air travel to arrive in Canada, health insurance for the first 3 months. To all this add the sale of cars, furniture and other household goods that will remain in Italy and that you regain in Canada (the voltage is 110 ), more heavy clothes, books, blankets, phone, etc.. First deal is a good deterrent to the risk of giving up, so do the accounts at the end, or rather, at the beginning of the new world, or better yet, never.

D. documents, certificates, declarations must be translated?
R. Yes, all documents sent to the Embassy or BIQ must be in French or English. We have all been translated by an interpreter who was then sworn and authenticated documents (as per instructions of the sites). The practice is expensive, there are those who have published in-house, but I was afraid us that the practice was delayed / blocked and I did not want to risk it.

D. What I hated most of the waiting?
R. The lack of information and updates, the uncertainty el `` `inability to understand why not anyone said anything to me, although I had a job waiting for me, a house, a car ',` a Canadian company that wrote to the Ambassador to ask for my visa. Wait, wait, wait.

To complete the first episode with a touch of color.
D. What he told me the `official` Immigration upon arrival in Montreal?
R. All 'Rome office does not know how to work. Ben arrived.
